Last renovated in the 90s, the Grand Wayne Center’s 10,000-square-foot main ballroom, which divides into several smaller ballrooms, was in desperate need of modernization. However, the event center could not shut down completely to accommodate the work.
Solution
We worked around the conference center’s busy event schedule to tear out the old carpeting, scrape and smoothen the floors, then install 6-foot-wide carpet rolls. If an event was scheduled in Ballroom A, for example, we would work only in Ballroom B. We were given about 4 to 5 days per area of the ballroom to complete the work, and we were on the job nights and weekends making sure it was completed on time.
